Choose a specific vehicle. Where data is available, its detail page shows the import cost calculation. We assess any possible duty benefit with you before purchase.
Important: A 0% EU import-duty rate may be available for a vehicle covered by Regulation (EU) 2026/1455 that has US origin and is imported directly into the EU. CETA may apply to a vehicle with preferential Canadian origin. Whether the requirements are met is assessed for the individual case. The BMW X5 M is the performance flagship of the X5 line — a twin-turbo V8 super-SUV that carries M division suspension, brakes and calibration under a full-size family body.

Model profile
The nameplate dates to 2010, but the modern cars fall into two generations. The F85 X5 M (2015–2018) introduced the current formula: a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive as standard.
Powertrain and equipment
Every modern X5 M uses the S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, a hot-vee design with the turbochargers nestled inside the cylinder banks. The F85 makes around 567 hp (575 hp in later Competition-badged cars); the F95 Competition raises that to 617 hp and 750 Nm.
The X5 M is a five-door SUV only; the coupe-roof variant is sold separately as the X6 M. US cars are lavishly equipped by default: Merino leather, carbon or wood trim, a Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins audio system, soft-close doors, a panoramic roof and adaptive M suspension.
Vehicle selection
The United States is one of the largest markets for the X5 M, so supply of used cars is comparatively good and includes plenty of low-mileage, dealer-serviced examples.
The assessment depends on the specific vehicle and the circumstances of the transaction. Please contact USCar Trader before purchase; we review any possible duty benefit and provide non-binding support. Import VAT and other costs are considered separately.

Pre-purchase review
The S63 is a strong engine but not a cheap one to keep healthy. Known weak points across the family include coolant and oil leaks (valve-cover gaskets, coolant transfer pipe on earlier engines), timing-chain guide wear on high-mileage examples, and turbo-related concerns if oil changes were stretched. Carbon build-up on the direct-injection valves is expected over time.
Germany and Europe
US X5 M cars typically lack a rear fog lamp and use US headlight aiming, both standard TÜV correction items.
Typical TÜV work includes headlight adjustment to the EU beam pattern, fitting or activating a rear fog lamp, and confirming the odometer and speedometer.
USCar Trader services
As a buyer based in Germany, you do not have to inspect the vehicle yourself in the United States or Canada. Within the agreed scope, USCar Trader can coordinate document review, a separately commissioned on-site inspection and purchase processing.
Covered inspection points are agreed in advance. An on-site inspection records condition at the appointment and is not a guarantee.
Next step: Before commissioning, USCar Trader and the customer agree which document, history, inspection and transaction checks suit the vehicle and are included in the service. This records what was actually checked.

Import VAT and other taxes or costs are assessed separately under the applicable rules and the circumstances of the individual case. A blanket answer for every vehicle would not be reliable.

Yes. It is a global BMW model fully supported by the German dealer and parts network.
Most US cars fall between roughly 20,000 and 70,000 miles; a complete service history matters more than the number alone.
